The Celtic Challenge is a biennial event for veteran (over 40s) fencers, contesting all six weapons in an individual open tournament. There are competitions for both men and women, with one single age class: above 40 years of age.
It is an individual 6 weapon event (2 rounds of poules) with teams invited from the following Celtic Nations:
- the Channel Islands
- Republic of Ireland
- Northern Ireland
- Isle of Man
Each nation will nominate 3 fencers in each weapon at the start of the competition whose final ranking will count towards the overall team Dragon Trophy. Scotland won the team trophy in 2014.
The cost of an individual entry is €40 (EUR) for one weapon.
Full details of this year's event can be found on the Ireland Fencing website along with an online entry form (alternatively see the attached document). There is also a list of current entrants available.
