Alex Pearson

Alex has been involved in fencing for over 16 years having success across all three weapons at youth level and making the UKSG team in two different weapons in 2009 and 2012. Due to injury, Alex retired from competitive fencing in 2013 and moved onto coaching and development. Currently he coaches at the Sancroft Blades and is often seen refereeing at various youth competitions across Scotland.

Vincent Bryson

Vincent joins Scottish Fencing having spent several years working within sport in Scotland.  Most recently in a short contract with Scottish Squash, Vincent also spent three years as Operations Manager at Scottish Hockey and has also served on the board of Scottish Archery for the last two and a half years where he lead the strategic planning process for their increased investment plan for the 2017-2021 period.

Chloe Dickson

Chloe is covering the TM position while Louise Helyer is on Maternity Leave. As well as a successful fencer, Chloe is a qualified coach. She was part of the staff team for Challenge Wratislavia and is welfare officer for the 2017 Summer Camp. 

Bill Steele

Key responsibilities: as Team Selection Manager it is my intention to make the selection process clear and concise, and to remove any ambiguity over the team selection process for fencers looking to compete for Scotland

Background: At present I am a project manager with a large electronics company based in Edinburgh and I have a number of transferable skills that can be utilised for my role as a director of Scottish Fencing (SF).

Elizabeth Anderson

Liz Anderson joined the staff of Scottish Fencing on 29 September 2014 to run our office in Sportscotland's Caledonia House in Edinburgh. She replaces Alan Loveland who will be retiring in December.

Louise Helyer

Louise is currently on maternity leave and will return in 2018.



Key responsibilities:  As Team manager my key responsibilities are to guide the process for selecting fencers for teams.  This extends from the creation of selection criteria through to the actual selection process.  All criteria and selections that we make are then ratified by the board of directors.
