2018 Sportsaid Scotland - bursaries

Scottish Fencing is very grateful to SportsAid Scotland, and its sponsor the Robertson Trust, for 2018 bursaries awarded to six Scottish fencers: Jess Corby, Kate Daykin, Chloe Dickson, Sarah-Jane Hampson, Mhairi McLaughlin and Katie Smith.

We were invited to make six nominations and asked fifteen of our fencers to make applications to us.  We are pleased that all six of those we submitted were successful, although all of our fifteen would have been worthy recipients.

Events postponed due to weather - Dundee Duel and CW prep

Due to the adverse weather:

These lists show a running total of the British Fencing ranking points scored by Scottish fencers since the selection period for the Commonwealth Fencing Federation Championships (CFFC) began on 1 July 2017.  They apply the BF ranking rule of allowing the sum of a fencer's best six results, of which no more than four may be from FIE Competitions.

2017 Club development grants - updated!

Following a review of earlier grant applications, Scottish Fencing recognise that many clubs have been deterred from applying for grants due to the requirement to reach a set target of members.

We appreciate that many clubs cannot afford to lose money on these activities if they failed to reach their member target.

In order to protect clubs from this Scottish Fencing will cover successful applicants’ costs to ensure they do not lose money on activities, so long as every new/returning fencer that attends an activity becomes a member of Scottish Fencing.
