Veterans Home International 2016 - Results

The Scottish Veterans were fencing last weekend (9th/10th April) in Durham at the Four nations event. This was fought over two days and there were some really tough and close matches.

On the Saturday the men and women Foilists both fenced brilliantly to win all their matches and get the gold medals. The ladies and men's Sabre teams both won and lost matches to get third place and bronze medals.

On the Sunday the male Epeeists had a harder time loosing their matches; they lost to Wales by a single hit. The lady Epeeists won against Wales and lost to Ireland but were able to fight hard in their last match with England to win by one hit in the last second.

The overall team standings were England first, Scotland second followed by Ireland and Wales. It was a great weekend of fencing with a gala dinner in the town hall in Durham in the presence of the Mayor, who attended on the Sunday to watch the epee and present the medals.

The event will be in Ireland next year.
