Contract for Services - Sports Development Consultant

Contract:          Contract for Services Consultancy Agreement work to be completed by 31 March 2018

Location:           to be agreed

Fees:                 £4000 - £5000 (dependant upon experience) plus agreed expenses

Closing date:      Midday Wednesday 13 December 2017

Interview dates: Likely 15 December 2017 but subject to change – tele-interview is also a possibility

Scottish Fencing are seeking a Sports Development Consultant to work with our clubs and members to help deliver three priority outcomes by the end of March 2018.

1.       Membership Growth

a.       To help targeted clubs organise and run women's only classes, including facilitating grant applications.

b.      To help clubs organise and run Teacher CPD, including facilitating grant applications.

c.       To help clubs organise and run beginners plastic fencing classes, including facilitating grant applications.

 

2.       SwordMark

a.       Enable clubs to move forward with the SwordMark accreditation process to their desired level.

 

3.       Talent Development

a.       Conduct a consultation with clubs, members, coaches and athletes to help Scottish Fencing refresh our Talent Development programme.

 

4.       Club Development

a.       Support the development of new clubs (or existing if requested), undertaking research on a club’s viability, using connections and knowledge to build a stable club with a well-thought-out plan in line with agreed targets.

This position will require someone who has a sound knowledge of club development combined with experience of evaluating and accrediting governance systems. The consultant will need to be personable, approachable and a good networker able to develop positive relationships across Scottish Fencing and all our partners.

You will receive direction from the Chief Operating Officer and work alongside Scottish Fencing’s Club Development Officer and Administrator; however, we also need you to be motivated and capable of working independently. This role will suit someone who enjoys meeting and supporting others, is self-motivated and keen to achieve.
