Equipment Specifications

Foil Bibs

As in previous years conducting foil bibs are not required by Challenge Wratislavia: therefore for consistency they are not essential for this event. If you have a conducting bib we can provide tape to insulate this from the lame.

Weapon Size

Depending on the number of entries the organisers may mix age groups for poules. This means that U13 fencers should be prepared to fence others who are using size 5 weapons. In that situation fencers can choose to fence with either size 5 or size 3 (or smaller). Again, this is the same rule as Challenge Wratislavia. We would recommend fencers fence with the size of weapon which is appropriate for their age group and ability.

Sabre Gloves

Those fencing with size 5 blades in sabre should be aware that British Fencing safety rules require them to wear 800n gloves.

En Garde and Back Arm rules

The sabre en garde rules will apply as will the new back arm rule in foil. If you have any questions about these please speak to your coach.

Entries

The organisers, at their discretion, may accept late entries but anyone entering after this time will need to bring proof of their British Fencing membership.

Welfare Officer

There is a change to the Welfare Officer, Roy Clarke will now act as welfare officer for this event. If you have any concerns you can email Roy
