About the event

The event is being organised by Salle Holyrood.  Scottish Fencing is not supporting the event financially but will provide the following in kind services….

  • Provision of a "Scotland" Mens Foil Team selected to take part in an international exhibition match
  • Loan of some Scoring / Display System components
  • Marketing of the event through our channels

The revenue from the event will be used as follows…

Scottish Fencing will

  • Partially fund a foreign trip for young Scottish fencers in 2013.

Salle Holyrood will...

  • Promote and subsidise opportunities for their National Academy level fencers
  • Create a new hub for wheelchair fencing by promoting the sport, running free taster sessions and engaging with disability groups in the region
  • Foster links with the Polish community both here and through a summer camp programme with the Polish School of Foil.

As well as fund raising for the sport we see this event as an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of fencing in Scotland and furthering links with both the Scottish based Polish community and the Polish fencing community.    Poland has consistently produced some of the world's very best fencers and we are very grateful to their fencers for taking the time to compete in this event and to their fencing federation for supporting it.
