Scottish Fencing April Coach Education Weekend

Would you like to help members of your club improve their fencing skils?

The Coach Education Programme for the 2012/13 season welcomes all levels of coaches to become involved in helping to develop the abilities of Scotland’s fencers.  Coaches looking for refresher courses to help reinforce knowledge and experience already gained as well as those looking to complete modules as part of their overall course requirement are encouraged to come and join in our efforts to help build a strong foundation of knowledge that will help our fencers gain more enjoyment through the mastery of technique, tactics and ultimately an improved chance to beat their opponent.

If your club books 3 coaches on to the programme they will get the 4th place free.

The next coach education weekend of the 2012/13 fencing season is planned to take place on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of April from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:

Dunblane High School, Anchor Cross Way, Old Doune Road, DUNBLANE, FK15 9EW

A number of coaches have gained partial qualifications in the past 12 months, completing one or more of the modules required for a full certificate. We would encourage all coaches to continue in their progression of modules and coaching levels in order to afford the talented Scottish youth a chance to maximize their potential.

Student Participants Get Free Lessons

Our Coach Education Programme offers an opportunity for students to get ‘free lessons’. If you are a fencer interested in developing your abilities but are not sure if lessons are the way to go, why not volunteer as a student participant to find out how coaching can improve your fencing skills. (Minimum age requirement – 13 years old.)

Just fill in the Student Participant Application form and send it to admin@scottish-fencing.com

Costs for Coaches

The course fees for the weekend have been set at £50 per head.

If you are interested in joining in the Coach Education Programme please contact us at the e-mail address below sooner rather than later as this gives us more time to make the necessary arrangements.
