It is with much sadness that Scottish Fencing reports the passing of Jean MacLardy. Jean began fencing at a house wives group in 1971. From this beginner’s introductory class she went onto pass her SAFU and BAF coaching exams. She coached many youngsters in her time starting some international fencers on their paths to success. She ran fencing clubs at St Margarets School and Scotus Academy to name just two. As well as coaching she was an active committee member standing on the Scottish Schools Committee.
The Challenge CEP Marathon fleuret is an international foil competition in Paris for girls and boys aged 13 and under. It attracts competitors from all over Europe; Italy, Germany and Greece and also fencers from further afield Australia, Brazil and Turkey. The format is three rounds of poules then indirect elimination (DE with repechage) to the last 8 when there is direct elimination. There is a lot of fencing to reach the final and congratulations to Jaimie Cook and Milenka Zadora for reaching the last 8 in their events.

Under 20 Men
Here are the 2015-2016 Scottish Youth Rankings. This is the first year that a comprehensive ranking has been published for these age groups and this reflects the commitment Scottish Fencing has made to developing our stars of tomorrow. The points totals are based upon a fencer's best 6 results from 9 nominated competitions and this format will continue in the 2016-2017 season.
As part of our commitment to equality and to demonstrate that Scottish Fencing meets the equality related governance standards set by sportScotland, we are required to collect and report equality statistics.
British Fencing will collect this data on our behalf by conducting an online, anonymous Equality Survey. This was emailed to all members on the 2 June 2016.
Booking is now closed. If you wish to attend the Summer Camp please contact Don@scottish-fencing.com to see if there are any places left.
