5 Nations 2013 : Results

The annual 5 Nations Fencing tournament was hosted this year by Scottish Fencing in Edinburgh.  A summary is shown below showing the total number of match victories for each country in each event.

Bill Hoskyns

We regret to report the passing of Bill Hoskyns, one of only two British fencers to have won a senior world fencing championship - the men's epee in 1958. For more details, see

New Fencing Classes in Aberfeldy

Fencing classes will be starting at the Breadalbane Community Campus, Aberfeldy, on 24th August 2013 and every Saturday thereafter from 1pm - 4pm.

News from the Boardroom

Scottish Fencing’s board of directors met on 20 February 2013 with all directors present: Graeme Hart, Chris Hyde, Mike O’Donnell and Ed Rogers. Also taking part was Ewen Cameron, Scottish Fencing’s partnership manager at Sportscotland. The meeting opened at 6.00 pm with Mike O’Donnell in the chair.

Half Yearly Review

The board completed the half yearly review with Ewen Cameron of progress towards targets agreed with Sportscotland for 2012/2013 in the following areas:

Notification of Business by Members and Clubs

No notifications were received by the closing date of 8 February; therefore the meeting will proceed in accordance with the previously published agenda.

Nominations to the Board of Directors

The following nominations were received by the closing date of 15 February:

Since the number of nominations does not exceed the number of vacancies, there will be no ballot.
