The 2015 Senior 5 Nations took place in Belfast on the 21st November.  Our thanks to Northern Ireland Fencing for organising the event this year.  Final placings were as follows

Scottish Fencing Academy - International Qualifier Results

 Results for the first Scottish Fencing Academy International qualifer are here.

Congratulations to Robbie Brown, Alex Stewart, Rhys Barbour, Emily O'Brien, Keira Papadopolous, Ewan Robertson and Sasha Htet-Marshall for winning their events.

The next round of the series of International Qualifiers is on the 7 and 8 November at St Thomas Aquin's High School, Edinburgh. Closing date for entries is the 4 November and full details are here.

The Highland Open 2015 - Summary & Results

Elgin Academy was the venue for the UK’s most northerly open fencing tournament last weekend (24 & 25 October) when over 100 competitors from countries as far afield as Spain and Shetland competed for the Highland Open Men’s and Women’s Foil, Epee and Sabre titles.

Commonwealth Cadet & Junior Championships 2015; Team Report

The Scottish national team came away from the 4th Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships and the Inaugural Cadet Commonwealth championships placed second in the medals table with 4 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals. Cape Town in South Africa played host to the championships and Scotland sent a representative team of over 40 fencers to the event.

Leon Paul Junior Series - Scotland 2015

Wallace Fencing Academy hosted the LPJS Scotland 2015 event at their Linlithgow Academy venue over the weekend of 6th/7th June.  With boys and girls in Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 categories in all three weapons over 180 fencers took part.

Scottish fencers take the next steps at the Intermediate Championships

The inaugural Scottish Intermediates Championships took place at Linlithgow Academy on the 23rd and 24th May 2015. This competition is designed with the relatively new fencer in mind. Its aim is to provide a platform for those who are fairly inexperienced, but can no longer be considered novices, to succeed in a competitive environment more suited to their ability. It allows them to gain the necessary competition experience and helps to bridge the gap between beginners and more experienced levels of fencing.

Veterans Home International 2015 - Results

After an exciting weekend of fencing the final ordering came down to the last match, Women's Team Foil between Scotland and England.  In the end it was a convicing win 45-29 by the Scottish team of Sheila Anderson, Maria Cabrelli and Helen Pitt - ensuring Scotland's 2nd place in the overall competition.

Chloe Dickson wins British Under 23 Championships

Congratulations to Chloe Dickson who won the British Under 23 Women's Foil Championships in London at the weekend.  

This means she automatically qualifies for the British team taking part in the European Under 23 Champipnships being held in Vicenza in April.
