School Teams - Revised Timetable no fencing on Sunday!
Revised check-in times as follows:
- Epee teams would now need to arrive by 0830hrs on Saturday.
- Sabre teams would now need to arrive by 1030hrs on Saturday morning
- Foil Teams would now need to arrive by 1330hrs on the Saturday afternoon.
Timetable would look like this;

2017 UK School Games is Announced
Congratulations to the following fencers who are selected for the 2017 UK School Games.
Please note that all selections are subject to appeals and to British Fencing disciplinary checks.
Selected fencers will be contacted directly by the Team Manager, Chloe Dickson regarding their selection shortly.
2017 European Veteran Fencing Championships, 25 -28 May
Mike McKay finishes 8th! Great Britain won 2 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze medals at the 2017 European Veteran Fencing Championships - a very successful event!
The Championships (individual) are held every 2 years and this year the lovely Italian town of Chiavari near Genoa was the host. This is an open event and there were over 1470 fencers across all 6 weapons in all age groups.
There were 8 fencers from Scotland who entered.
2017 Scottish Youth Championships
17 and 18 June
Venue: Dunfermline High School, Jennie Rennies Road, KY11 3BQ
Eligibility
The competition is open to those with a current competitive membership of Scottish Fencing.
Under 13 – fencers aged under 13 on 01/01/17 (born 2004 or 2005)
Under 15 – fencers aged under 15 on 01/01/17 (born 2002 or 2003)
Under 17 – fencers aged under 17 on 01/01/17 (born 2000 or 2001)
Under 20 - fencers aged under 20 on 01/01/17 (born 1999, 1998 or 1997)
2017 Veterans 4 Nations
England 1, Scotland 2, Ireland 3, Wales 4 - Scotland won gold in Women's Foil.
This year Ireland were the hosts and the event was held in Dalkey, south of Dublin with the Saturday night gala dinner being held in the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire.
For the first time, the event was being held over one day. The men’s foil, Women’s epee and the men’s sabre were in the morning with the remaining weapons in the afternoon.
2018 Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2018 - Scotland Team Selection Criteria
The 2018 Commonwealth Federation Fencing Championships will take place in Canberra, Australia from 10 – 15 November 2018.
Scottish Fencing aims to select up to five fencers at each weapon.
Selection will be informed by GB rankings as at 1st July 2018.
To be eligible for selection for the Team a fencer must;
- Be a member of Scottish Fencing
- Be eligible to represent Scotland as described in the Scottish Fencing Eligibility Criteria
