BYC Regional Qualifiers

The British Youth Fencing Championships are running on the 29 April to the 1 May and you can find further information about the tournament here. This is an essential tournament for younger competitive fencers wanting to progress their fencing to national or international levels.

POSTPONED - Edinburgh - Ready Steady Fence Plastics 2 Metals Festival

Scottish Fencing is postponing the READY STEADY FENCE Plastics 2 Metals Festival in Edinburgh which was planned for .Sunday 6th November 2016. We hope to have the replacement dates and further details soon.

Venue - to be decided

The event will be open to all Primary 4-7 that have participated in plastics fencing classes in school/club.

Registration:   12.30 - 12.45

Start Time:      13.00

Under 15 International Qualifying Event

Format is one round of poules followed by direct elimination which is the same as Challenge Wratislavia. 

The start and check in times are the same for each weapon so for girls and boys:

Foil Check in is 8.30 - 9am for a 9.15 am start

Sabre Check in is 11am - 11.30 for a 11.45 start

Epee Check in is 12:15 - 12.45 for a 1pm start

Edinburgh - Ready Steady Fence Festival

Scottish Fencing is holding a READY STEADY FENCE Festival in Edinburgh on Saturday 15th October 2016.

The event will take place at ORIAM (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS) alongside the Scottish Open.

The event is open to all Primary 4-7 that have participated in plastics fencing classes in school/club.

Registration:   12.30 - 12.45

Scottish Fencing Academy - Performance training

The second Scottish Fencing Academy Performance Training day is on the 9 October 2016 at Queen Anne High School Dunfermline.

The start of the 2016-2017 season is upon us and Scottish Fencing is consolidating the ‘season’ established for under-13s and under-15s last year. Although Fencers are free to pick and choose from the events available, to get the most benefit we hope that you will engage fully with Scottish Fencing’s comprehensive programme of competition and training as follows:

2016 Challenge CEP Marathon fleuret Paris - Results

The Challenge CEP Marathon fleuret is an international foil competition in Paris for girls and boys aged 13 and under. It attracts competitors from all over Europe; Italy, Germany and Greece and also fencers from further afield Australia, Brazil and Turkey. The format is three rounds of poules then indirect elimination (DE with repechage) to the last 8 when there is direct elimination. There is a lot of fencing to reach the final and congratulations to Jaimie Cook and Milenka Zadora for reaching the last 8 in their events.
