Commonwealth Team Eligibility

Any Fencer who wishes to be considered to represent Scotland in the CFFCs whose place of birth, or place of birth of one parent is not Scotland, or who wish to change allegiance from the country of their birth to another will be required to submit an appeal to the CFF Executive.

Elite Athlete Funding Announcement

In order to continue to meet the requirements laid down by sportscotland, the SF Board and Performance Committee have developed and agreed a new Elite Funding system. The purpose of the Funding is to support the efforts of those who stand the best chance of making senior GB teams.

Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2014 - Scotland Team Selection Criteria

The 2014 Commonwealth Federation Fencing Championships will take place in Scotland from 10th – 15th November.

To be eligible for selection for the Team a fencer must;

Be eligible to represent Scotland by meeting one of the following criteria :

  • Born in Scotland
  • One parent born in Scotland
  • Had the provisions of CGF article 24 (1-3) waived by the Commonwealth Fencing Federation

Sainsbury's 2013 School Games - Selection Criteria

The Sainsbury's 2013 School Games will be held in Sheffield on 12-15 September 2013.  The  selection criteria for the 2013 Scottish team is as follows:

To be eligible for selection fencers must be Under 18 on 1st January 2013.

The date for selection will be the 1st March 2013.

There are 4 fencers allowed per event so each home country can select up to 24 fencers, these must be the same fencers for the individual & team events.

Anna Bentley Appointed Chairman of Performance Committee

Scottish Fencing is delighted to announce the appointment of Anna Bentley as Chairman of the Performance Committee.  As a hugely experienced fencer and Olympian, Anna will bring a great deal of insight to the committee.

The Committee now comprises:

Val Cramb - Senior Team Manager

Ken Rose - Youth Team Manager

Don McKenzie - Performance Development Manager

Performance Committee - Roy Clarke Steps Down as Chairman.

Roy Clarke has stepped down from his position as the Chairman of the Performance Committee.  

The Board of Scottish Fencing would like to express its immense thanks to Roy over the many years he has dutifully carried out the Chairman's role - acting with total fairness at all times and ensuring Scotland always put forward the best team for representative fixtures.  His experience will be missed.

Thank you very much indeed, Roy!  All the best for the future - you'll always be welcome at Caledonia House as ex-Performance Committee Chairman and President!

5 Nations Team - Final Team Announced

The 5 Nations team has now been finalised. Unfortunately, due to the high number of unavailable fencers, the Senior Team Manager elected not to field a Women's Epee team.  

Good luck to all those going to Dublin - Scottish Fencing are expecting some silver-ware to make the journey back across the Irish Sea!

Men's Sabre

B Team Match - Cancelled

Scottish Fencing regrets to announce that, due to the unavailability of both the Irish and RAF teams, this year's B Team Match at Inverclyde has been cancelled.  Plans are in place to bolster the fixture for next year and there will be an announcement in due course.
