Scottish International Under 15 Selection Event 3

Scottish Fencing invites you to enter the Scottish International Under 15 Selection Event 3 

Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships 2015

This event is scheduled for 10th – 17th July 2015, to be held in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.  The official announcement and more details can be found here: http://www.commonwealthfencing.org/junior.html .  There will be both individual and team events at both age groups.

Scotland Team - Preparation for CFFCs

With only a month to go now until selection date for the Scottish Team for the Commonwealth Fencing Championships, I am delighted to announce the following team staff have been confirmed for the Championships:

Team Manager - Val Cramb
Foil - Don Mckenzie
Épée - Andy Alderman
Sabre - Ben Hanley

Don, Andy and Ben will shortly be arranging some preparation events (either a team event or training session) for those who are currently in positions in the Scottish Rankings likely to be considered for selection.

Mark Alvarez-Peres takes bronze at Challenge Wratislavia, Poland

Mark Alvarez-Peres of West Fife Fencing Club took the bronze medal in the under 13 Boys Sabre event yesterday at Challange Wratislavia in Poland.

The event is one of the biggest youth events in the world and the U13 sabre featured competitors from some of the top fencing nations including Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Latvia.

Commonwealth Team Eligibility

Any Fencer who wishes to be considered to represent Scotland in the CFFCs whose place of birth, or place of birth of one parent is not Scotland, or who wish to change allegiance from the country of their birth to another will be required to submit an appeal to the CFF Executive.

Elite Athlete Funding Announcement

In order to continue to meet the requirements laid down by sportscotland, the SF Board and Performance Committee have developed and agreed a new Elite Funding system. The purpose of the Funding is to support the efforts of those who stand the best chance of making senior GB teams.

Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2014 - Scotland Team Selection Criteria

The 2014 Commonwealth Federation Fencing Championships will take place in Scotland from 10th – 15th November.

To be eligible for selection for the Team a fencer must;

Be eligible to represent Scotland by meeting one of the following criteria :

  • Born in Scotland
  • One parent born in Scotland
  • Had the provisions of CGF article 24 (1-3) waived by the Commonwealth Fencing Federation

In addition you must:
