2016 Holyrood 49er Junior Foil (under 13)

A fun day of fencing for children aged under 13 on 1st January 2016.  The fencers will be placed in small groups to fence each other and will move around according to their results in each round - no elimination, just lots of fencing.  A great way to meet new friends, have fun and practice those skills.  All participants will receive a free gift.  

Check-in; 9-9.30am. Competition start 10am.

There will be a cafe selling lunch bags, rolls, home baking and refreshments.

PaFF funLeague competition day

The next PaFF funLeague competition day is on Saturday 7th May, 2016.

It's Plastic Foil, and open to any fencer of Primary School age.  All primary-school fencers are very welcome (even ones who normally use metal swords).

It takes place just 5 minutes drive from the end of the M8 motorway, Bankhead Avenue, Sighthill, Edinburgh, EH11 4DE at Edinburgh College's Centre for Sport and Exercise, on their Sighthill Campus.  

2016 Challenge Wratislavia results round up

A squad of 30 fencers flew out to Wroclaw to fence in the Challenge Wratislavia 2016 tournament. A brief report on their final placings and results is here.

2016 SFA Summer Camp

Dates for the Scottish Fencing Academy summer camp are 4 - 8 July. The venue is Strathallan School (see pictures above).

Applications for the Summer Camp should be received three weeks before the event so sign up to guarantee your place! Coach Serena isn't able to come now but in her place we welcome Beatrice Argenti, winner of the Mediterranean U20 Championships and runner-up in the Italian U20 Championships. She is planning to accompany three younger Italian foilists for some international sparring.

GB Men's Foil team qualify for Rio 2016

#RoadtoRio, Britain’s men’s foil team qualified for the Olympics this weekend. Richard Kruse, the only Scot and his fellow team mates are now looking forward to fencing men’s foil in Rio. You can read the full report with comments from Richard here.

2016 Secondary School Team Fencing Championships

Please Note: This Competition is for School Teams Only

Each entrant must be an individual member of Scottish Fencing and attend a Scottish secondary school. 

Fencers’ names must appear on the membership list obtained from British Fencing on 18th March, otherwise they will be required to pay the appropriate membership subscription at check-in.

Teams must represent Scottish secondary schools.
Each team member must be a current pupil of the school represented by the team.

2016 Dundee Duel

Entries for the Dundee Duel are now open!

This is a one hit epee competition open to all with prizes for 

  • Top Woman
  • Top Man
  • Top Student
  • Top School Pupil
  • Top Veteran

and there is a team competition with a prize for the best team name. 

Entry is only £18 and you get a free mug or if you would like a commerative T-shirt entry costs £27.
